The Healing Diaries: Earthing

Have you noticed how amazing you feel after swimming in the sea? Or after spending a couple of hours gardening? This is due to a very real phenomenon called EARTHING.

I started looking into earthing about 9 years ago, a couple of years after being diagnosed with an auto-immune disease. I was trying out different diets, testing different things to get better, as I remembered vividly the amazing feeling I felt EVERY DAY we spent at the BEACH when I was a child in Morocco. We would spend our summers barefoot, running around, swimming in the sea, getting sun on our skin and we would sleep like logs. This is probably due to getting exercise in, vitamin Dearthing and being happy (80% of children’s neurotransmitters are in the gut, 60% of adults’)

The Earth gives us energy and improves our electromagnetic field. Flying does the opposite to you. [A very good way to reset the system after a flight, by the way, is to have a bath].

Every time I am in the countryside or by the sea, I take my shoes and get my kids to take their shoes off. I try and swim in the sea as much as I can (except when it is too cold!) and I do feel the positive effects on my system.

There is a growing body of research on earthing, and frankly, I haven’t looked deep into it since 2009. I have just been practicing earthing when I have been given a chance. I believe there is no downside to a good plunge in the sea, as it makes us feel good immediately!
