This simple side dish of roasted sweet potato and garlic pairs well with any main meal or lighter lunchtime salad. Sweet potato is packed with gut-nourishing fiber and antioxidants. The distinctive orange flesh gets its color from beta-carotene, a type of carotenoid that converts to vitamin A in your body. Both vitamin A and beta-carotene have anti-inflammatory actions and help maintain strong immunity, gut health, and eye health. Garlic has many health benefits. From supporting healthy blood pressure to easing a common cold, garlic is an important food for heart health, immunity, gut health, and managing inflammation. Its pungent flavor neatly complements the black pepper and cumin, two warming, anti-inflammatory spices.

Yes, you can absolutely use olive oil for baking. It works well in cakes, muffins, breads, and savory bakes. It’s also a healthier alternative to butter thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties and heart-healthy fats. Extra virgin olive oil has a smoke point of about 190–210°C (374–410°F). Most baking recipes use oven temperatures of 160–200°C (320–392°F), so you’re well within the safe range. I hope this answers your question.
