How to Treat Migraines & Headaches Successfully

Migraine headaches are influenced by many factors, including genetics, hormonal changes, poor gut health, food intolerances, alcohol/sugar/caffeine consumption, mitochondrial deficiencies, electrolyte imbalances, dehydration, exhaustion, eyestrain, environmental changes, the weather – and the list goes on!

What is the leading cause of headaches and migraines, though? The truth in many cases, according to studies, is that genetics are to blame and that often, there are underlying triggers already present in the body. When those underlying triggers and causes are treated and paid attention to, the healing begins.

When treating migraines holistically (which is what Eat Burn Sleep does), with a combination of allopathic guidance, naturopathic nutrition, and a lifestyle and dietary protocol – migraines go into remission.

Migraine Reduction Success Story

Edith is a happily married woman with three beautiful children aged eighteen, ten, and eight. She works part-time, and life is busy juggling family, work, and school commitments.

She has always considered herself “healthy” by eating home-cooked meals, rarely having fast food, intermittent fasting occasionally, eating organic where possible, seeing a naturopath regularly, and taking supplements for general well-being.

Edith has been watchful with her health as she had colitis as a child, experiencing mild digestive issues. She also has PCOS but was able to conceive three children without intervention.

Several years ago, she began experiencing migraines once in a while. Over time, they started to increase in frequency to about once every four weeks and then almost every second week. These lasted for about two or three days. They were debilitating and left her drained of energy.

Initially, when the migraines were occasional, they occurred at the same time as her menstrual cycle. Edith’s first recourse was her naturopath, who prescribed supplements to address the migraines. In addition, she was to try to avoid certain foods leading up to a period, continue eating as “clean” as she could, and reduce stress/tension. This migraine treatment plan eased the severity of her migraines temporarily, but they began to increase in frequency after a while.

At this point, she saw her GP, who prescribed Rizatriptan. This migraine medication worked well, and she continued to take the supplements, but again, over time, the migraines increased in frequency.

Edith was unhappy about having to medicate so regularly, as she felt she was barely getting over one migraine, and another would start. She also became increasingly concerned about her future: would the migraines become even more debilitating, and would she need stronger medication?

She wanted to find a solution to stop migraines altogether or at least minimize their severity and frequency. She also began feeling puffy/bloated, unenergised, and unmotivated.

When Edith felt relatively low, she caught up with a friend who mentioned Eat Burn Sleep. She began following Yalda on Instagram, and it was the first time she had encountered the term “chronic inflammation”. Everything that Yalda spoke about made complete sense to her, and after researching the subject, she felt that the lifestyle could help her. It was most definitely worth a try.

Edith signed up to Eat Burn Sleep and began the Six Week Reset. The day she started the reset, she had a severe migraine that lasted four days. It wasn’t easy, but it made her all the more determined to do it.

Edith stopped her supplements on the reset and followed the advice to reduce migraines. There were several social events during this time, but she remembered Yalda’s wise words, which made all the difference:

“It’s not about perfection but damage limitation.”

By the third week, Edith felt energized, lighter, and able to sleep better at night. By the end of the six weeks, she felt fantastic, had lost 11kgs, and had not had a migraine!

People commented on how well she looked, and Edith said it was about how well she felt. She continues to follow the lifestyle 80/20, sometimes less. She does experience migraines occasionally, but she is completely happy with her current lifestyle balance.

I started following you on IG 2 yrs ago and something about the way you formed the lifestyle and community really resonated with me.

I’m 77 and have 2 lovely daughers in their 50s and grandchildren in their 20s. I’ve been married for 56 yrs and we are a close family. My lovely sister Ingrid is a member of EBS.

In my younger days I suffered from continuing migraines, so I took painkillers all the time, looking back now and with the experience and my knowledge you get when older, I was really harming my gut. So I’ve had problems for about 20 years. Gastritis was diagnosed after an endoscopy and scans etc.

I have learned the only way to deal with it is through a good diet and lifestyle. So that’s where you got me! I do yoga class too.

I really think this makes so much difference too with strong core and good posture so that is why I absolutely love your information, but its so much more than that.

Its your caring and kindness and the way you love your boys. Its beautiful. You are an inspiration

On the reset for the second time in two years as an EBS Member. I must say this time the first week is so much easier, no headaches and no major cravings.

This fully supports that after being on the EBS lifestyle, my gut health has significantly improved since last year.

It is amazing to know you and so many members are taking control of their health and committing to the reset at the same time, this is embracing EBS strength and resilience.

I started my EBS journey in Aug 2021, shortly after I had been diagnosed with ME. I also suffer from endometriosis, migraines, and IBS. I was at a real-time low, chronically fatigued, and in pain every day and I felt stuck. I had followed Yalda on Instagram for a little while and decided to give it a go.

I started with the 6-week reset and couldn’t believe the difference I felt in just a few weeks.

No bloating, more energy, less brain fog, better mood/sleep/skin – I felt mentally stronger and balanced.

Nine months later, my ME is totally under control, and my energy levels are back to where they were before my diagnosis.

The lifestyle is so easy to follow and the recipes are delicious.

I also believe the mental wellness element of the program is fundamental and has enabled me to maintain a positive attitude and helped me flourish again. It’s a fantastic investment and totally worth every penny, as there is such a wealth of information and many resources available on the platform. It’s also constantly being updated.

I’m so happy I found it, and I can’t thank Yalda enough for creating it!

I have always suffered from IBS and chronic constipation & had more health issues after pregnancy. Eventually, I was diagnosed with SIBO, anemia, chronic gastritis, gluten & dairy intolerance, chronic migraines, and anxiety.

I decided to finally embrace the EBS lifestyle 100%, and it is a life changer.

I am enjoying all the recipes and have shifted from HIT to the movement videos, which have been great for me. It has been 3 months, but it is safe to say that most of my symptoms have disappeared.

I truly recommend the EBS lifestyle to anyone who wants to live a healthy life and enjoy it to the fullest.

This is the reason why I started your lifestyle earlier this year: because of migraines that were debilitating and increasing in frequency, doctors offered strong meds but I wanted to know if there was something else I could do to stop their frequency, severity or even eliminate them. Your lifestyle has been amazing not only for my migraines but for my overall health. I can’t thank you enough! I’ve now subscribed to the premium and can’t wait to continue on my wellness journey! Thanks so much, Yalda!

Hey, queen! I just finished my 6-week reset and I can not begin to tell you how this has changed my life. I struggle with hormone imbalance, joint issues, depression, migraines, and obesity. I haven’t had crippling depression since I started this, I’ve lost 12lbs so far, I can bend my thumb for the first time in months (I have a trigger finger), I don’t remember the last time I had a migraine, and hormones are still balancing out but my periods are starting to come back to normal. I was so skeptical trying what I thought was just another “diet” but I was so desperate for help I needed to try something. This has truly become a lifestyle for me and the mental clarity it brings is just truly off the charts. Thank you so much for this and for constantly bringing the awesome content and recipes you do! I have never felt deprived or like I was missing out on anything and just live my life a little bit better. Seriously, thank you!

Ashley

My debilitating migraines have almost disappeared and I have officially lost 6.5 kgs in two and half months.

The advice is extremely clear, well-documented and really well-produced, not overwhelming.

I have terrible migraines so I am looking forward to the migraine handbook as I’ve been looking for solutions for the past 10 years!

The podcasts also seem genuinely informative and deep.

Today is my Eat Burn Sleep lifestyle anniversary! I want to thank Yalda and her team, and say I’m incredibly grateful for the platform.

I will try to explain how it benefited me without being too long. In 2019, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which probably had been going on for quite a while. The doctors were shocked to find out my TSH was 17 (so more than quadruple the normal range). I was on 75mcg Synthroid for a few months. And 6-7months after my diagnosis, I started the Eat Burn Sleep lifestyle (I would say 70/30) which started to reverse my symptoms and Synthroid became way too strong and I had hyperthyroidism. I, therefore, stopped all medication which was such a relief, and never took it again. Ironically, all the doctors (GPs and endocrinologists) told me I would need medication for the rest of my life, and probably with increasing dosage given my very high TSH levels.

Fast forward to 2021, I was still on the Eat Burn Sleep lifestyle but with a lot of red list foods I believe, and I wanted to lose all the weight I gained during my hypothyroidism days, and just wanted to feel healthier overall. I then started the Six Week Reset, and I lost 7kg!!!! I respected the food list and meal plan religiously, however, I definitely have room for improvement regarding my water intake/physical activity (part-time job + studying for a big exam in May)/ and also meditation. I hope this summer I will be able to incorporate all those and lose my last 7-8kg remaining to be at my normal weight. I also want to add, that my first week was terrible. I had awful migraines, I threw up multiple times in the morning, I felt nauseous most of the day. I only started feeling better after the second week.

I just want to say that, it is a journey, it might be easy for you, for me the first week was pretty bad. But the results are fantastic, and I truly believe that the Eat Burn Sleep lifestyle can only lead to positive outcomes. My undergrad was in human biology, physiology, and immunology, and everything Yalda says makes sense. I hope the lifestyle will stick with me once I become a doctor, and maybe, who knows, prescribe it as a “medication”

Still with me? I’ll sum up how the lifestyle benefited me here:
– Lost 7kg
– Better mood + energy
– Skin improvement (I suffered from milia on my cheeks and jawline, and they seem to be smaller in size)
– Baby hair growth
– Dramatically decreased all of my sugar/junk food cravings
– Fewer migraines (I still have them once in a while but not as often and as severe)

Victoria

I had been having digestive issues for 3 years. I couldn’t eat anything without looking 6m pregnant. I saw all kinds of specialists, did endoscopies, colonoscopies, took so many supplements, changed my workout regimen, stopped drinking, almost stopped living happily – even did a nutrition course at IIN, but no one highlighted the importance of inflammation.

Since discovering EBS over 2 years ago I feel like a new human. No more migraines, way more energy, rarely ever bloated, and just happier eating, not being scared I won’t be able to walk after a meal. I eat double what I used to eat!

Thank you Yalda for making sense and teaching me the simple yet powerful things thousands of pounds couldn’t achieve and getting my health back.

S.B

The lifestyle has helped me so much.

I have PCOS and IBS/reflux. An added benefit for me is my cystic acne from PCOS just vanished. My 13-year-old acne is clearing up. Same for my grown brother and his migraines also lessened.

The bloat is gone, no more popping TUMS and Gas-X and Omeprazole all the time. My tummy is flat for the first time since babies! I feel better at 40 (my birthday is tomorrow) than I did at 30. My hair is shinier, my nails are breaking less.

I would also add that I am adapting many of my Pakistani recipes (inspired by yours) and the ingredient list to be EBS compliant. I’ve never been a big eater and didn’t join for weight loss. My weight has dropped maybe 2-3 pounds but it seems to have just redistributed to the right place.

Thank you Yalda for sharing your knowledge, wisdom and experience! I just finished the EBS Siv Week Reset and have not had to medicate for migraines which I experience twice to three times a month! Trying to find relief or a solution for the migraines when nothing else seemed to work was the main driver for me to try this program. Daily headaches disappeared by week two. I have also lost 8kg and am feeling great! It really couldn’t be easier to do this. The recipes are uncomplicated and delicious! The exercise videos and information sessions are so motivating. Very appreciative…Thank you!
