Nutritious protein shake

This is my go-to protein shake is I need a boost in nutrients or when hungover! Check out my post on how to deal with a hangover.

Why do I use these ingredients?

  • I use plant-based protein powder because it is easier on the digestive system that whey protein, which can sometimes cause bloating.
  • I use nut or coconut milk for the same reason. It is easier to digest than regular milk, but if you prefer regular milk, go for it!
  • The nut butter includes good fats in the shake that would have virtually zero fat otherwise. I like organic almond or cashew butter.
  • The collagen protein powder is one of the best-kept secrets in the beauty and nutrition world! It is 100% pure protein and it is good for the lining of the gut, joints, muscle recovery, and skin health!! It is a magic potion that keeps you younger on the inside as well as the outside. It has no taste. You can find a few on Amazon, go for the grass-fed/pasture-fed option as it is less inflammatory than grain-fed beef.
  • The banana is filling and makes the shake very creamy while adding a healthy source of carbohydrate for your mood. See my post on carbs where I explain why you need them.
  • The cocoa and stevia are to enhance the flavor and to get some nice anti-oxidants.

I hope you enjoy this protein shake, let me know what your variations of this recipe are!
